Yes, THAT Royal Wedding. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Did you know that Megan was introduced to Harry on a blind date that was set up by a friend? Yes, we're serious. This makes me reconsider my stand about blind dates. You never know if your friend is going to introduce you to your husband or wife.. or royalty.

On May 19th, millions of Americans (including some of us here) got up early with our cup of tea (okay, it was coffee) in hand to watch the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Unlike most weddings, this one was attended by thousands of people who stayed overnight in the street to just try and get a glimpse of the couple. In addition, 2,640 people were invited to watch the wedding from inside the Castle Grounds.

Can we just take a moment to admire this wedding party? What a crew,

We see you, Queen Elizabeth.

We have compiled a list of all of the fun details from this glorious day!

  • The Duke of Suessex (Prince Harry) was accompanied by his Best Man and brother, The Duke of Cambridge (otherwise known as Prince William).

  • Meghan chose to not have a Maid of Honor considering she has so many close friends and did not want to make anyone feel left out. Instead, she had bridesmaids and page boys (our equivalent to flower girls and ring bearers).

  • According to Royal.uk, "[Megan]'s dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The veil represented all 53 Commonwealth Countries, featuring distinctive flora from each country. The veil was held in place by Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was lent by The Queen."

  • The rings that were exchanged were made by Cleave and Company. The Duchess’ was made from a piece of Welsh Gold that was gifted by The Queen, and The Duke’s was a Platinum Band with a textured finish.

  • After the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went around town on a carriage procession, allowing the public to see the newlyweds.

  • The wedding reception was hosted by The Queen and took place in St. George’s Hall, Windsor Castle. The cake was designed by Claire Ptak and featured elderflower syrup made at The Queen’s residence from the estate’s own elderflower trees, and a light sponge cake uniquely created for the couple.

  • Meghan's evening dress was designed by Stella McCartney (Paul McCartney's daughter). It is a bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe.

At many wedding ceremonies and receptions, couples find ways to incorporate the memories of their loved ones in different ways. If you look closely, during the ceremony, there was an empty seat left for Princess Diana.

Remember, you don't have to be a prince or princess to feel like royalty on your wedding day! Let us help you plan your dream wedding.
