Are you nervous? I can feel it... you're going to propose soon, and haven't got a clue where to begin! DON'T PANIC! I have some good news for you: picking out the perfect engagement ring isn't as hard as you think it is. Sure, the entire process is extremely nerve-wracking so let us help relieve some stress with some tips you should be aware of.

You found the perfect girl, and now you have to find the perfect ring. Normally, couples go through this process in one of two ways: 1) they either go together, or 2) the entire thing is a surprise! I don't know about you, but as a girl, I would love if a man surprised me with a ring that he thought I would love... it would show me that he really knew me, my style, my preference.. okay, I'll save the day dreaming for later.
If you and your future fiance are planning on going ring shopping together, ring size won't be so much of an issue. However, if it is a surprise, getting that information might be a little bit more tricky without ruining the surprise.
1) Try to find out her ring size from a family member or a friend! Someone has to know her size, right? A friend or relative can even take her ring "window-shopping" for fun, doing all of the detective work for you.
2) If you already live together, or can somehow borrow one of her rings without her noticing, you can take it to the jewelry store to get it measured.
3) You can try to trace the inside of her ring with a pencil and and/or use a printable sizing chart if you can get your hands on one of her rings!

Getting your girl's ring size without her knowing might be tricky, but hopefully one of her friends or a family member can help! Now that you have her ring size, it is time to choose the actual ring.. another nerve-wracking process, right? Stop sweating! It doesn't have to be!
Here are some tips to keep in mind when choosing a ring:
1) Most importantly, do not rush. Give yourself time to pick out a ring.
2) Think about the shape (geometry) of the stone. This is a vital part of any engagement ring! What shape is going to suit the best? Then you can go ahead and start thinking about the 4 C's: cut, clarity, color, and carat.
3) The metal framework where the stone will be mounted is vital and sets the tone for the entire ring! You need to choose this very carefully. For example, rings can look trendy or traditional just depending on the type of setting.
4) Be aware of what kind of style ring your girl likes. There are square, round, heart-shaped, etc. diamond cuts, and you want to make sure the style is something that she loves! Again, you can have a friend or family member try to get you this information, or just try to secretly look at rings she has.
There is so much more that goes into buying the perfect engagement ring than just knowing the right ring size. We hope that this blog helps you and eases your mind a little bit during this whole process. We wish you the best of luck on your search for the perfect engagement ring for your girl, and after she says yes, let us help you plan the wedding of your dreams!
